Small, slightly citrus flavoured potatoe like tubers. Grow disease and pest free. Their leaves are also edible and can be added in small quantities to salads. Replant a few of your crop the following year for ongoing production.

Availability: 13 in stock

These plants sprout pretty wing shaped leaves from spring. You can eat the leaves in small quantities (they contain oxalic acid). They have a citrus flavour, which is a nice addition to salads. In the winter, the plant dies down. Underground it produces multiple tubers which are also edible. You can eat them either raw or fried or roasted. They too taste slightly lemony but have the consistency of potatoes. These plants are not troubled by blight or any other diseases or pests and so can make a good substitute for potatoes. When you dig them up, pop a few back in the ground, or keep some aside to chit on your windowsill in late winter and plant out in May. You will then be rewarded with another crop the next year. Buy once and have an ongoing crop forever. 5 tubers will give you enough crop for a couple of side dishes a year, plus the salad leaves through the summer.

I am selling a mixed variety of colours (mostly pink this year), 5 per bag.  I can post these within the UK only.
